Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the GrammarCraft Android application (package name com.grammarcraft.app) handles information.

Effective: 21 October 2026 Applies to GrammarCraft v1.0.0 and later

The short version

GrammarCraft itself collects no personal data — no accounts, no names, no emails, no tracking of its own. All learning content is bundled in the app and works offline, and your progress is stored only on your device. To keep the app free, newer versions display ads served by Google AdMob: those use internet access, and Google may collect standard ad-related identifiers (see Section 3). You can turn off ad personalization at any time (see Section 8).

1. Overview

GrammarCraft is an educational application that helps you master English grammar through theory, quizzes, flashcards and gamified practice. All of its content — every topic, quiz and library — is bundled inside the app itself and works without an internet connection.

We built GrammarCraft to respect your privacy completely. This policy describes, in plain language, exactly what information the app does and does not handle. Because the app collects nothing, there is honestly very little to say.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

The app itself does not collect, transmit, share or sell:

  • Personal information (name, email, age, gender)
  • Device identifiers collected by us (for Google's use of the advertising ID, see Section 3)
  • Location data
  • Contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone
  • Usage analytics or behavioural tracking
  • Crash reports or diagnostics
  • Payment information (there are no purchases)
  • Account credentials (there are no accounts)

Versions up to v1.0.0 were fully offline — without even the INTERNET permission. In ad-supported versions, internet access is used solely to request and display ads from Google; it is never used to upload your personal details or learning progress. For what Google's ad service may collect on its side, see the next section.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

GrammarCraft is free, and ad-supported versions keep it that way by displaying advertisements served through Google AdMob. To load these ads, the app connects to Google's advertising servers — that is the only reason internet access is required. Learning content never depends on the network.

When ads are displayed, Google's ad service may automatically collect and process standard, ad-related information such as:

  • Your device's advertising ID (or app set ID)
  • Device model, operating system and language
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address
  • The time and frequency of ad requests
  • Interactions with ads, such as views and clicks
  • General diagnostic data used to detect fraud and abuse

This information is collected by Google, not by us — we never see it and cannot identify you through it. It is processed under Google's own privacy policies, which you can read here: Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Ads may be personalized using your advertising ID to make them more relevant. If you prefer, you can turn off ad personalization at any time in your device settings (see Section 8) — you will still see ads, just non-personalized ones. In regions where the law requires it (such as the EEA and the UK), the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time.

4. Information Stored on Your Device

To remember your progress between sessions, GrammarCraft stores the following on your device only, in the app's private local storage:

  • XP points and rank
  • Daily streak counts
  • Completed topics, activities and quiz scores
  • Your light/dark theme preference

This data never leaves your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is not accessible to us. It lives inside Android's per-app sandbox, protected from other apps. You can erase it at any time via Settings → Apps → GrammarCraft → Storage → Clear data, or by uninstalling the app — uninstalling removes everything permanently.

5. Permissions, Internet & Android Backup

Ad-supported versions of GrammarCraft request only the basic network permissions needed to load advertisements (INTERNET and network state). Nothing more — the app cannot read your contacts, see your photos, record audio, or access your precise location. (Versions up to v1.0.0 requested no permissions at all.) For the limited, IP-derived information Google's ad service uses, see Section 3.

One thing to know: if your device has Android's system backup feature enabled, the operating system may include GrammarCraft's local data (your progress) in automatic backups stored in your own Google account. These backups are controlled by you and Google — we have no access to them and cannot read, restore or delete them.

6. Third Parties

The only third-party service used by ad-supported versions of GrammarCraft is Google AdMob, as described in Section 3. There are no other advertising networks, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs of our own, no trackers and no social-media integrations.

Every screen, font, icon and quiz question is bundled inside the app and rendered locally — the only network requests the app ever makes are to Google's advertising servers.

7. Children's Privacy

GrammarCraft is an educational app suitable for all ages, and we designed it to be safe for children and students. The app itself still collects no personal information, requires no account, and asks for no sign-in.

In versions that include advertising, we follow Google Play's Families Policy: ads shown to users known to be children come only from Google's certified families ad inventory, and personalized advertising is not used for child-directed audiences. Google's ad service applies these protections automatically based on how the app is designated in the Play Console.

8. Your Choices & Data Control

You remain in full control of all data related to the app:

  • Control ad personalization — Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → “Delete advertising ID” (or reset it). Ads keep working; they simply stop being personalized.
  • Erase progress — Settings → Apps → GrammarCraft → Storage → Clear data.
  • Delete everything — uninstall the app; all local data is removed permanently.
  • No accounts to close — there is no sign-up, so there is no server-side record to request or delete.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how GrammarCraft handles information (for example, adding an optional online feature), we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. Any future version of this policy will remain available at the same web address where you are reading it now.
